After two years in development, wendyyen.com went live on the World Wide Web on Thursday 25 May 2022 at 9:00pm (AEST). The development journey has been frustrating, emotional, but very rewarding. There were many sleepless nights and hours spent figuring out what the heck I was doing and fixing the system that kept crashing on me. The idea of hiring a professional to finish the project crossed my mind a number of times.
I procrastinated but never gave up. This website means so much to me that giving up was not an option. Creating my website on my own proves that I am highly committed, motivated, capable and result driven. I suppose my project management skills and positive mindset assisted tremendously in completing project on budget and within “reasonable” timeframe.
The live date was set and everything leading up to the 25 May ran smoothly. Except in the 3 hours prior to going live, I encountered technical issues with the “maintenance mode” function and wasn’t able to remove from my website. My stress level escalated at its peak and my biggest nightmare almost became a reality. After many attempts back and forth with the system and much to my dismay, I was able to rectify the issue by the cut off time.
The Party
The website launch party was a private event in collaboration with Vlushe Lounge located in Fortitude Valley held on Saturday 4 June 2022. A super chic and luxurious hair and makeup lounge, Vlushe was the perfect venue for my launch party. The team at Vlushe did a marvellous job with my hair and makeup which I totally rocked the rockstar hairdo with my silver smoky eyes.
